John 5 about HOLYDAY 2
Upon a closer reading and study into John 5, it appears that the events and words related in this chapter are directly-connected to HOLYDAY 2.
Notice in John 1, it refers to "a feast of the Jews".
Notice that Jesus kept the Passover (#1) as related in John 2:13.
Then another Passover (#2) is related in John 6:4.
Then the last Passover (#3) is related in John 13:1.
The Apostle John was orienting his gospel account around the 3 Passovers of Christ's ministry.
We also know that Christ also kept the Feast of Tabernacles from John 7:2.
And He kept the Last Great Day holyday in John 7:37.
Now since the Apostles were keeping the Days of Unleavened Bread (1 Cor 5:8) and the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1 and 20:16 and 1 Cor 16:8), and because they were commanded to follow Christ's example, then we can be assured that Christ also kept the Last Day of Unleavened Bread (Holyday 2) as a holyday, in accord with the command to keep all of the holyday convocations in Leviticus 23.
So it could well be that the "feast of the Jews" mentioned in John 5:1 is referencing the Day of Pentecost, the Feast of the Firstfruits that is kept on the 50th day from the morrow after the Sabbath during the Days of Unleavened Bread, just as commanded in Leviticus 23:15.
Now we get clues that this is a good assumption by studying the events and words spoken in John 5.
Notice that Christ healed a "lame" man and commanded him to take up his and walk, and that this was done on a weekly Sabbath day, the Sabbath that may have been the 7th Sabbath, Day 49, in the count leading up to the Feast of Pentecost on Day 50.
Did the Father lead Christ to think about what would happen when the Feast of Firstfruits would be fulfilled far in the future?
Did the Father want to give us a clue by having a lame man healed, because that is what will happen when the Feast of Firstfruits is fulfilled?
Notice the prophecy in Micah 4:6-7:
This gathering is most likely referring to the time of when the Firstfruits, "the daughter of the kingdom of Jerusalem" (Micah 4:9), become the "kingdom of priests" (Rev 5:9-10) that are prophesied to exist on earth just before Christ returns. This gathering will constitute the Spring Harvest of the Kingdom of God!
At that time, no one will be sick (Isa 33:23-24) in the "Pentecost Nation", and "the lame will take the plunder" and the "arise and thresh" and "pulverize many peoples" (Micah 4:13).
Besides the above clue about "the lame", the reference to the resurrection of the dead on John 5:25 can very much apply to the resurrection of the Firstfruits who have kept the commandments and "did the good". These people constitute the Spring Harvest!
And another BIG CLUE is that all of the verses referencing the witness and testimony about the validity of Jesus being the Christ is very much in alignment with the fulfillment of Holyday 2 being the second witness/testimony to Jesus being the Lamb of God who fulfilled the Passover, Holyday 1 (Ps 22:30-31).
I was always curious why the Last Day of Unleavened Bread (Holyday 2) and the Feast of Pentecost (Holyday 3) were not mentioned in the Gospels.
Now I think we have a good answer to that question.
John 5 is about what may happen on Holyday 2, Day 49, the 7th Sabbath, that will prepare the world for Day 50, the Feast of the Firstfruits... the Pentecost Nation!
Isa 66:7-8
P.S. Today, June 8, 2019, as I write this post, just happens to be Day 49, the Sabbath day that just precedes Day 50, Pentecost!

6 "In that day," declares the LORD, "I will assemble the lame And gather the outcasts, Even those whom I have afflicted. 7 "I will make the lame a remnant And the outcasts a strong nation, And the LORD will reign over them in Mount Zion From now on and forever.

7 "Before she travailed, she brought forth; Before her pain came, she gave birth to a boy. 8 "Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Can a land be born in one day? Can a nation be brought forth all at once? As soon as Zion travailed, she also brought forth her sons.
